Overcoming Myself

Father, my life is bought with a price and is not my own. This morning I die to sin and live to the righteousness found in Christ Jesus. Not my will but Your will be done. My desires don't move me as I give myself to Your will and purpose. I only do what I see You do and speak what I hear You speak and the way you spoke it. I ask, seek and knock before I presume anything. I do nothing for the praise of man but only for the glory of God that I may receive the victory. My trust and confidence is in You and Your Word and not in my own understanding or in the strength of my flesh. I can do nothing of myself; only when I abide in Jesus can I do and bare good fruit. Thank You for helping me put away the old man and putting on the new spirit filled man in the name of Jesus who has delivered me from sin and self-destruction.

Scripture

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; - 1 Peter 3:15 KJV

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. - Matthew 10:26-28 KJV

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. - Hebrews 10:22-25 KJV
